The CREATION SPACE at ISSEY MIYAKE SEMBA presents a special installation, “ISSEY MIYAKE FOOT by ISSEY MIYAKE FOOT.

The joint footwear development project “ISSEY MIYAKE FOOT,” created by MDS (MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO) and ASICS, will launch from the Spring Summer 2026 season.

MDS has long collaborated with companies that share its dedication to technology, ideas, and aesthetics, creating a wide range of products. “ISSEY MIYAKE FOOT” is a project that studies the human foot to develop footwear that brings new perspectives and proposals to everyday life. At its foundation lies the deep respect and unwavering trust built through both companies’ many years of creating and developing products in Japan.
ASICS, guided by its vision to “Create Quality Lifestyle through Intelligent Sport Technology” has continued to achieve an advanced integration of function and design, backed by research on the human body, movement, and footwear conducted at the ASICS Institute of Sport Science.

MDS, which has continually shaped ideas and design through a fundamental exploration of the relationship between the human body and clothing—beginning with a piece of cloth—will work with ASICS in a collaboration that draws out the potential of both teams, exploring new possibilities in footwear and engaging in research and development with a long-term vision for the future.

In this exhibition, an installation centered on “HYPER TAPING™︎,” the first footwear of ISSEY MIYAKE FOOT, offers visitors an opportunity to explore the concepts and philosophy behind the product.

Installations in conjunction with this will be held at the SHIKAKU of ISSEY MIYAKE SHINJUKU.
