Flagship Store
Location: Nolita, Manhattan
Onsite: 5 days between Monday to Sunday, 10:30 to 7:00pm

We are seeking experienced Assistant Store Managers to join our team at our Nolita location. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about luxury retail, client experience, team development, and are excellent operational performers.

Position Summary

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) plays a key leadership role in driving store operations, achieving sales performance, and delivering an exceptional customer experience for the PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE store. The ASM supports the Store Manager in meeting sales targets and maintaining store standards, while coaching, motivating, and leading the sales team to maximize both individual and team performance. Acting as the Store Manager in their absence, the ASM takes full responsibility for managing the team and ensuring smooth store operations. As an operational expert, the ASM ensures the store runs efficiently, meets sales goals, and consistently delivers the brand’s high standards of service and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Sales and Client Experience: Drive sales performance through strong floor leadership, team motivation, and proactive client engagement.
  • Deliver a consistent, elevated client experience aligned with brand standards and support CRM initiatives
  • Team Leadership: Coach, motivate, and lead the sales team to maximize individual and team performance. Act as the Store Manager in their absence.
  • Operational Expertise: Ensure smooth day-to-day store operations, including POS management, e-commerce fulfillment, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and client retention initiatives.
  • Scheduling & Attendance: Maintain staff schedules, monitor attendance, and ensure proper coverage at all times.
  • Recruitment & Training: Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training team members to build a high-performing staff.
  • Policy & Standards Enforcement: Implement and enforce store policies, procedures, brand standards, and visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Team Performance Management: Provide feedback to the Store Manager on team members’ performance for evaluations, promotions, and employment status changes.
  • Reporting to Corporate: Keep the corporate office informed of daily operations, needs, and challenges in the absence of the Store Manager to ensure the store is fully supported.

Daily Operations - Assist store manager with all aspects of day-to-day operations including, but not  limited to the following:

  • POS  
  • EC Fulfillment  
  • Inventory Management  
  • Team Management  
  • Client Building and Retention  
  • Shipping and Receiving  
  • Maintain Schedules and Monitor Attendance  
  • Recruitment, Interviewing, and Training 
  • Act as the Store Manager in their absence

Relevant Experience

  • Boutique Retail experience preferred
  • POS and EC Fulfillment
  • Inventory Management
  • Client Building and Retention
  • Minimum 2 years managing a team of 4+
  • Intermediate Excel skills to build and run reports

Benefits
70k - 80k annualized salary, plus commission
17 pooled PTO and Sick days, to start

Flagship Store

Position Summary
The Sales Assistant plays a key support role in store operations. This position assists with customer service, cashier duties, receiving shipments, restocking merchandise, and maintaining overall store organization. The role also supports e-commerce fulfillment, including picking and packing online orders, preparing shipments, and ensuring timely and accurate order completion. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Support Sales Associates in delivering excellent customer service
  • Operate POS system and handle cash/card transactions accurately  
  • Assist with opening and closing cashier procedures
  • Run merchandise between stockroom and sales floor as needed
  • Provide coverage on the sales floor based on business needs
  • Collaborate with the store team to receive, unpack, verify, and process incoming shipments while maintaining inventory accuracy and organization standards
  • Tag, steam, and prepare merchandise for the sales floor
  • Replenish stock and organize backroom inventory
  • General support to retail operations on occasion

    Requirements/Skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Prior retail experience preferred, but not required 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Ability to walk and climb stairs without restrictions
  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods (4 -5 hours between breaks)
  • Ability to pack, unpack, hang, and move merchandise using rolling racks
  • Strong ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
