2026.07.01 | HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE Announces the 2nd OPEN STUDIO at Tate Modern, September 16, 2026

OPEN STUDIO

HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE is pleased to announce the second edition of OPEN STUDIO in collaboration with Tate, on September 16, 2026. The upcoming presentation is inspired by an individual artwork from the museum’s permanent collection, created by an artist celebrated around the world.
OPEN STUDIO is an evolving initiative, where the design team travels around the world to present its clothing to new cultural contexts. Through this platform, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE engages with local communities while connecting to a broader international creative scene. Free from conventional seasonal frameworks, OPEN STUDIO embraces a fluid and open approach to design and making, rooted in the brand’s philosophy—garments designed as products for everyday life that adapt to each wearer’s body as they bring out individual personalities.

The first edition of OPEN STUDIO took place in June 2025, during Pitti Uomo in Florence, held at the historical Villa Medicea della Petraia, and presented through both exhibition and show formats. This debut showcased HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE clothing, as well as the research process behind the garments, derived from the design team’s fieldwork in Italian cities.

We look forward to meeting you in London.
