2026.06.10 | A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE First-time participation in “3daysofdesign” in Copenhagen, Denmark

From Wednesday, June 10 to Friday, June 12, A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE is exhibiting in 3daysofdesign, a design festival held in Copenhagen in Denmark, for the first time.
We will present the second line of the “O Series” of portable lighting products by the “TYPE-XIII Atelier Oï project”, a collaboration with Swiss-based design studio atelier oï, in 2112, a gallery in the heart of the city of Copenhagen, in conjunction with 3daysofdesign 2026.
This project was announced during Milan Design Week in April 2025. It has developed lighting products based on an innovative concept that transcends the field of clothing design, combining “a piece of wire” and “a piece of cloth.”
A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE has previously created unique clothing, utilizing a variety of techniques to pursue the possibilities of a single piece of cloth while focusing on the body. This project takes this one step further and tackles the challenge of a new area: lighting.
This exhibition will introduce new color variations from the “O Series” that incorporate the textures of wood and stone, found in nature, into the lampshade cloth. Visitors can touch the lamps and experience how the new colors transform the ambiance of a space.

O Series
The O Series is a portable lighting series co-developed with Ambientec, a Japanese manufacturer specializing in portable lighting. It is characterized by a design that is harmonious with diverse spaces and environments, so that users can freely carry the product wherever they like in everyday life.
For this series, atelier oï designed an elegant oval wire frame, while the lampshade incorporates a recycled polyester “Steam Stretch” material, the textile technology utilized in A-POC ABLE’s clothes-making process. Steam Stretch is an innovative technique that pre-weaves design elements into a piece of cloth, which then shrinks upon exposure to heat, creating a delicate yet robust three-dimensional pleated texture. The wire frame and cloth are detachable, so the lampshade can be changed to suit the season or any welcome guests. This variable design brings new value and enjoyment to living spaces. The color of the light can be adjusted between four levels, from a warm lightbulb color to a natural and invigorating daylight color.
The second line of this series for the exhibition has the themes of “WOOD” and “STONE,” taking inspiration from nature, and features items that express the textures of wood and stone through unique textiles. These products are lights, but also have the presence of works of art—they stimulate the user’s power of imagination and fit into a variety of living spaces.
