The MADO gallery at ISSEY MIYAKE / NEW YORK presents a special display celebrating the opening of the flagship store, featuring the ISSEY MIYAKE exclusive pieces: FOLDING COAT and SHADE and SHADED_NY.

Inspired by the act of unwrapping a gift, FOLDING COAT is displayed as a progression, a folded square unfolding into a coat, set against a sleek, curved metal plate. The contrast between the two highlights the garment’s natural texture.

Geometric and three-dimensional, SHADE AND SHADED_NY is created by folding the textile and then selectively pleating it. Displayed freestanding to showcase its structure, as well as the delicate, sculptural interior formed by folding and pleating the sheer material.
