2024.07.01 “Ronan Bouroullec: Drawings”
The KURA gallery of ISSEY MIYAKE KYOTO presents KURA Exhibition “Ronan Bouroullec: Drawings.”
The HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE AUTUMN WINTER 2024/25 COLLECTION, Immersed in the Wilds of Creativity, was presented in Paris. This collection was produced through a creative session with Ronan Bouroullec, a designer/artist based in Paris.
Bouroullec has a deep relationship with ISSEY MIYAKE INC., including designing the interior of the Paris A-POC store in 2000 with his brother Erwan. Alongside his design activities, he has produced numerous artworks. His drawings, a part of his daily routine, are held in the collections of museums and foundations around the world, and receive high international acclaim.
This exhibition will feature a special display of two original drawings from two of Bouroullec’s sketchbooks, which he uses everyday and contain many of his drawings. There will also be a video on the wall that shows the pages of his sketchbooks being turned one by one, allowing viewers to enjoy the shading and multilayered nature of the colors.
Lines drawn spontaneously and intuitively accumulate one by one. Through these drawings that have neither a beginning nor an end, experience the rhythm of the world as seen through Bouroullec’s eyes.
