2024.03.04 | ISSEY MIYAKE SHINJUKU | SHIKAKU ISSEY MIYAKE “Grasping the Formless”
The SHIKAKU at ISSEY MIYAKE SHINJUKU presents a special installation, “Grasping the Formless” by ISSEY MIYAKE, exploring the theme of the ISSEY MIYAKE Spring Summer 2024 collection, directed by the designer of the store Takashi Nakahara.
The collection seeks to represent elements in nature, like wind and light, that do not have definite shapes and incorporates them—as well as the serendipitous, ephemeral phenomena they bring about—into the design and making of the garments. In connection with the collection theme, this installation features “WIND FORM”, the work created by visual design studio WOW. The sheer, delicate organdy continues to change its form as it flows over the device of programmed electric fans, in synergy with the ambiguity of form found in the garments.
