2019.11.21 | ISSEY MIYAKE KYOTO | KURA “MOMO”
The KURA gallery of ISSEY MIYAKE KYOTO presents KURA Exhibition “MOMO.”
ISSEY MIYAKE SHIBUYA opened its doors on Friday, November 22th at the recently refurbished Shibuya PARCO department store complex. To mark this event, the documentary PLAYGROUNDS Stories behind HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE is screening for a limited time at WHITE CINE QUINTO, on the 8th floor of the complex. The film follows the making of HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE shows.
Most of the documentary is backstage account of two HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE shows performed in Paris in 2019, “PLAYGROUND” and “A Walk in the Park.” It records director/ choreographer Daniel Ezralow and a group of young people gather in Paris working on the unscripted dramas, from the buildup to the public performance of the show.
Viewers are shown the digest movie version of the documentary, which premiered exclusively at a recent exhibition. This exhibition is also focus on the color peach, a key theme of “A Walk in the Park.” It features a display coordinated with the peach-colored items that appeared in the show. We sincerely hope that the audience will not only see the worldview of “A Walk in the Park,” but also that they gain an appreciation of the energy and rich color variations inherent to the color peach.
