BONE SERIES Ⅴ
CONCEPT
What eyewear shape will appeal most to people today? This simple question was the starting point for the design of “BONE SERIES V”. A wide range of eyewear styles have enjoyed a moment in the spotlight over the years, from the medium sized eyewear of the '80s to the half rims of the '90s and from the delicate antique styles to the traditional lens shape. The design process for the new BONE SERIES began by reinterpreting the spirits of those designs and redesigning each of the parts. The result was a design that evokes nostalgia, yet is modern and unlike any other past eyewear style. A new medium-sized series was born with delicate half rims and hand-painted detailing on top.
TECHNICAL
DETAIL 1 Hybrid Titanium
Hybrid titanium, which is three times stronger than pure titanium, is used for the rim line material, which is the most important material in forming the half rim. The material characteristics such as durability and lightness are brought out to the limit, realizing a sharp look of the rim line with a thickness of 0.8mm and a depth of 2.2mm. The armor parts (Tomo) are made of pure titanium that prioritizes rigidity. The right material is used in the right place to maintain a comfortable fit for a long time.
DETAIL 2 Acrylic resin baked finish
The delicate lines of the rim are accented with baked acrylic resin. A skilled painting craftsman uses acrylic resin and applies it by hand one by one using a unique method, and finishes it with a baked finish. Good color development due to rich luster. You can enjoy the strange play of colors interwoven with the metal parts of the rim wire.
DETAIL 3 New “one bone” temple
A temple with a signature design with a twist that has been inherited from the successive “BONE SERIES”. For the 5th installment of this series, we have newly developed ultra-thin temples to match the delicate structure of the front. Functionality such as flexibility that enhances wearing comfort and omnidirectional rigidity is also compatible. Designed with the golden ratio of comfort and profile aesthetics in mind.
