BONE SERIES Ⅳ
CONCEPT
The BONE SERIES IV features frames brought to life in three shapes based on a central theme: “GRAPHIC”. The three distinct shapes — Round, Octagon, and Pentagon — are bold iterations of their namesake forms. They represent an expansion of the nature of the traditional BONE SERIES; however, the same characteristic lightweight metal frame and thin, stylishly shaven and inserted inner rim are still present. Exquisitely combined with medium-size colored lenses, each impression differs dramatically depending on the shape. This series lets you enjoy a rich array of graphic looks.
TECHNICAL
DETAIL 1 Front
Outerwear rim, which forms a bold and graphic front, uses ultra-fine pure titanium wire of 0.8 x 1.8 mm, and inserts an acetate inner rim that has been shaved to the utmost thinness. The inner rim type is said to have been invented by a British toolmaker in the 18th century to protect the lens, but it has been made thinner and lighter with modern advanced technology.
DETAIL 2 Armor (Satoshi)
The "armor" on both sides of the front is an important part that connects the metal Outerwear rim and the temple. Normally, several parts are brazed together, but this time, the functions of lens lock and hinge are completed in one part. Although it is one of the most time-consuming manufacturing methods, the simple integrally molded structure is excellent in strength and design.
DETAIL 3 Modern
The temple shape, which has been Brick twisted like fabric, is an icon that symbolizes the BONE SERIES, and each one is finished by hand with high precision. While maintaining the shape of this metal, the temple ends are sandwiched between trogamid, a resin material, to further improve the softness and comfort of wearing. It is a unique technology realized over a one-year development period.
