INLAY

This jumpsuit is from a series inspired by ceramic artist Shoji Kamoda’s work “Colored Jar.” The jar is defined by its gray, rough clay texture and its wing-like patterns drawn with vivid blue glaze. Using a computer jacquard loom, the fine clay particles were reproduced as woven patterns to recreate the clay’s texture. Glossy recycled polyester thread was used for the wing patterns painted with glaze. A cut jacquard technique was utilized for weaving while adjusting the weave density in order to express the raised texture and vivid color of the jar’s glaze. When unbuttoned, it becomes a flat single piece of cloth. The pattern of this product varies from item to item. Please note this in advance.
