This jacket expresses the texture of ceramic artist Shoji Kamoda’s work “Square Bowl, Silver Glaze” through a textile made with partially plant-derived artificial suede leather. Kamoda’s bowl conveys the strength of handwork and is characterized by its powerful, metallic luster created with pure silver pigments. The jacket’s design expresses the same wavering seen in the ceramic bowl by intentionally adding irregularities to the fabric and applying silver foil. The garment’s form also incorporates details from the bowl’s shape, including the rim with defined edges and the rounded base.
