2025.10.01 | ISSEY MIYAKE SHINJUKU | SHIKAKU HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE “STONE CLOUD”
The SHIKAKU at ISSEY MIYAKE SHINJUKU presents a special exhibition, “STONE CLOUD” by HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE.

The Autumn Winter 2025/26 collection, “LITHOLOGY: The Curious Stones”, expands on insights gained from the observation and study of stones. The beauty of their shapes, colors, and textures is incorporated into the making of garments, resulting in a collection characterized by striking forms and earthy tones that evoke the geology itself.

The “STONE CLOUD” series focuses on the smooth, rounded forms of rocks, which display diverse appearances depending on their formation process and environment. The series is constructed by combining flattened pieces of fabric to create overlapping silhouettes reminiscent of drifting clouds. The vest, inspired by natural holes in rocks created through erosion by water flow and microorganisms, is first translated into a flattened form before being incorporated into clothing. Wrapped around the body, it can be worn like a cape. Several snap buttons are placed throughout, and by fastening them in different ways, a variety of styling options can be explored.
The display features STONE CLOUD pieces are displayed draped around some central objects reminiscent of natural stone. Inspired by the forms of nature, this series resonates with its source as it stands quietly in the space as clothing.
