CONCEPT
A model with a beautiful straight frame
ISSEY MIYAKE EYES has created two successor models following the reprinted Sunglasses IM-101 released two years ago. A straight frame crossing the lens surface boldly asserts its characteristics. Sunglasses that will suit any person when worn. Round lenses give a soft impression, while square lenses give a slightly hard appearance. This is the birth of Sunglasses with a strong presence that fits into the daily lives of people of various races, genders, and ages.
TECHNICAL
DETAIL 1 brow bar
The straight brow bar made of lightweight titanium is connected to the temples on both sides with a flowing line, and the surface where the lens is attached is recessed with a press to fit the bar and lens on a flat surface. It is a design that eliminates any waste.
DETAIL 2 Spartan Hinge
The hinge that connects the temple and the front is usually joined by a process called brazing (a kind of welding process). This method is widely used, but this time, in order to give it even more strength, we used a highly precise structure that machined the inside of the end piece and the temple and joined them with a single screw. It has a beautiful finish with a flowing sense of unity.
DETAIL 3 Titanium bridge
Single pressed titanium bridge. Thermal processing technology allows fitting to individual noses. It is lightweight, flexible and has excellent rigidity.
DETAIL 4 2-curve nylon lens
Because of its low distortion and high transparency, it uses an ultra-lightweight and hard-to-break nylon lens that is easy on the eyes and does not cause fatigue. The moderately reflective effect of the slightly flat lens (2 curves) gives an impression of a modern appearance. Comes with an anti-reflection coating that clears the field of view.
