BONE SERIES Ⅶ
CONCEPT
BONE SERIES VII has its outline cut out from "a single board". The delicate material and the color of the metal surface that changes depending on the angle create a rich expression. And it's light and comfortable to wear with an excellent fit. By simply designing the β-titanium sheet material with a thickness of only 0.6 mm, we aimed to create a frame that naturally fits the facial expressions of people.
TECHNICAL
DETAIL 1 SHEET METAL
A 0.6 mm ultra-thin β-titanium sheet material is cut with a laser, and the side tips and nose pad arms are bent to form a “single plate”. The bridge part, which creates a three-dimensional expression, uses a special jig and is manually twisted one by one. It goes well with the temple shape, which is also an icon that has been followed in successive series.
DETAIL 2 Anodized film
The secret to changing the color of the frame depending on the angle is the anodized coating. When β-titanium is used as an anode and energized in an electrolyte solution to generate a transparent film, the thickness of the film can be changed at the nano level by controlling the voltage, creating a variety of colors. Even with the same color number, there are no exactly the same colors, which tickles the user's desire to own them.
DETAIL 3 Nylon color lens
Thin and light. The ISSEY MIYAKE EYES brand concept is a comfortable fit created from a sophisticated form. The BONE SERIES combines 0.6mm thick β-titanium sheet metal with durable, lightweight nylon colored lenses to coordinate dark colored lenses. The back side has an anti-reflection coating.
